COLLIER COUNTY FAMILY COURT

Court proceedings involving divorce and other family law matters are often emotional and difficult for all persons involved. It is highly advisable to consult with an attorney who will represent you and your interests.

If, however, you choose to represent yourself, Family Court Services in Lee County can assist you with the court process. Family Court Services assists individuals who are representing themselves in family law matters. The program’s offices are located in Fort Myers adjacent to the Lee County Justice Center.

Also you can contact the Collier County Bar Association (239-252-8138) for an appointment for assistance in understanding the court procedures, distribution of family law forms approved by the Supreme Court of Florida and notary services.

COLLIER COUNTY FAMILY LAW PRACTICES AND PROCEDSURES

Case Management Conferences (CMCs) are conducted by Family Law Case Managers, every Wednesday. CMCs are scheduled by an Order. If, a CMC needs to be rescheduled the request must be in the form of a Motion and Order or Stipulation and Order.
Attorneys and/or self-represented parties are encouraged to bring your calendars to the Case Management Conferences (scheduling mediation, hearings, trials etc.).

PARENTING CLASSES:

A "Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course" is required for all parties in a paternity case or dissolution of marriage case in which there are children.
