Service or Therapy Animal Program

On July 30, 2018, the Chief Judge for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit signed Administrative Order 2.38, In re: Twentieth Judicial Circuit Therapy/Facility Dog Program, and subsequently promulgated uniform standards for the application process.

Volunteer therapy dogs and their handlers are allowed to be outside the courtroom with children who are waiting to testify in their case. Each of the court dog teams has a red vest with a patch of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit. The purpose of this program is to offer comfort and support to children involved in the Dependency System.
