Arbitration

Arbitration is a dispute resolution process whereby a neutral third person or panel, called an arbitrator or arbitration panel, considers the facts and arguments presented by the parties and renders a decision, which may be binding or nonbinding. Fla. Stat. Section 44.1011. The court may refer a contested civil action to nonbinding arbitration which shall be conducted according to the rules of practice and procedure adopted by the Supreme Court. Fla. Stat. Section 44.103. The parties may also agree in writing to submit a contested civil dispute to voluntary binding arbitration. Fla. Stat. Section 44.104.
